Having fun with gigs

I’ve been actively part of a new rock band for one year and I’m super proud of what we’ve achieved so far. I’m not seeking for huge success, my objective is always to have fun, play with my keyboards, and explore new technologies, such as the MPE, which was a game changer in my entire keyboardist path.

The band is Svytols, and we’re actively having gigs in the north of Italy. These are some of the memories that I wish to share through my blog.

My current setup includes a Roli Seaboard Rise 2, an Arturia Keylab Essential 61, a Macbook M1 8 GB, and a USB audio external device. Compared to what I had back in 2011, these are superpowers with my youthful, and always-loved, band, Dossi Artificiali.

It’s a good time for being a passionate and amateur keyboardist. The Macbooks, powered by M1, and Mainstage are now mature enough to allow amateurs like me to perform using a potentially infinite library of sounds, without limits in terms of memory/CPU usage (M1 chips are impressive and 8 GB of RAM are surprisingly ok) and in terms of expression (mostly thanks to the Roli Seaboard).
