Quake 2 on a real Windows 98 Retro PC

id Software masterpiece has been re-released in a new shiny enhanced edition. Of course, my nth run has been completed with all the expansions this time (including the new one). But still, some of the vibes of playing it on a retro PC are still not 100% reproducible. That’s why I turn on my old PC sometimes to play those games as they were meant to be.

Quake 2 is a sequel that many hated, but in the past, I was on the other side: I always thought it was much better than its predecessor, with better gameplay, better music, and better graphics. The first Quake atmosphere is extremely good, I know, but the gunplay of Quake II, man, is simply perfect.

And, for those who played the new expansion, we have now a canon connection!! Just loved it!

Please iD Software, we’re ready for Quake V.
